Watching “The Kingdom” —a 2007 movie about a 1996 terrorist attack on an American housing compound in Saudi Arabia. The story centers on the small FBI team that investigated it. At least 19 people were killed and nearly 500 injured in the bombing, which used an abulance along with a ground assault on a baseball game.
Years later, I recall driving down a highway there where the visiting FBI team was also attacked. Americans are still committed to dying in other people’s conflicts abroad. We won’t have to drive as far in the near future.
On the homefront, America is moving quickly to end our energy independence, flood our southern and western communities with tens of thousands of immigrants, and train a government-dependent population to comply with what’s coming.
I find myself forgetting frequently that this “woke” generation is still asleep. They refuse to heed the harsh lessons of history. Each generation learns on their own that the world doesn’t work the way they wish it did. They prefer to learn the hard way.
Meanwhile, the church has to stay focused on its own mission now. As far as it depends on you, remain at peace with all men and women.
It’s going to be a hot and disasterously difficult summer.
